Why Big Data Week Bucharest

Marian Simpetru, Managing Partner at eSolutions, on the Big Data Week Bucharest Conference:

We have been under the overwhelming influence of artificial intelligence for many years. This powerful technology has a profound impact on society and the economy, transforming everything we do today—from the office to the classroom, and even within our own homes. Everything is changing: the way we develop software in conjunction with AI, the way we conduct business, with decisions now based on leveraging millions of data points and workflows automated by AI agents. In a context marked by such radical and accelerated change, it is our responsibility to share the experience we have already gained in working with these innovative technologies. This is why Big Data Week will continue to serve as an essential platform for identifying the most effective strategies for leveraging data at scale, for understanding the transformations these remarkable technologies bring to the economy and society, and for showcasing technological advancements, trends, operational challenges, applicability, and the vital role of specialists as promoters of these changes.

eSolutions Speakers at Big Data Week

Viorel Bibiloiu - The Power of Data Federation in the AI Era

In today’s distributed data landscape, organizations face the challenge of enabling AI to operate seamlessly across diverse systems. Viorel’s talk will explore how AI can be harnessed to unify and analyze data from relational databases, NoSQL systems, and cloud object stores without duplicating data. By leveraging advanced data federation techniques, businesses can achieve unified reporting, AI-assisted decision-making, and cross-domain data exploration, all while maintaining flexibility and scalability. This approach not only simplifies data architectures but also accelerates innovation and ensures that AI workloads can grow alongside business needs.

Viorel brings over a decade of full-stack software engineering experience, with a deep specialization in big data projects since 2019. His expertise spans architecting scalable, fault-tolerant solutions using technologies like Apache Spark, Cassandra, Kafka, and Kubernetes, both on-premises and in the cloud. Certified in multiple big data and cloud platforms, Viorel has led complex projects, mentored engineering teams, and is passionate about the intersection of big data and AI, making him well qualified to discuss the future of data federation at Big Data Week.

Marian Simpetru (eSolutions) & Radu Gheorghe (Vespa) - Alteus AI Platform: Governance, Context, Agents
