Viorel brings over a decade of full-stack software engineering experience, with a deep specialization in big data projects since 2019. His expertise spans architecting scalable, fault-tolerant solutions using technologies like Apache Spark, Cassandra, Kafka, and Kubernetes, both on-premises and in the cloud. Certified in multiple big data and cloud platforms, Viorel has led complex projects, mentored engineering teams, and is passionate about the intersection of big data and AI, making him well qualified to discuss the future of data federation at Big Data Week.
As AI becomes integral to enterprise operations, the need for robust governance and seamless integration grows. In their joint session, Marian Simpetru and Radu Gheorghe will introduce the Alteus AI Platform, a comprehensive solution designed to streamline AI adoption while ensuring control, compliance, and security. Marian will show how Alteus supports generative AI through a versatile Chat Assistant compatible with leading LLM providers, advanced context augmentation via Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and a centralized console for managing agents, data, and permissions. Radu will go into the more technical details of the platform, focusing on the RAG component and semantic search capabilities powered by Vespa.ai. He will explain how Alteus leverages up-to-date data and advanced retrieval techniques to provide relevant, context-rich information to AI models, enabling scalable and efficient enterprise AI solutions.

Radu Gheorghe is a seasoned expert in the search space, with deep experience in Elasticsearch, Solr, OpenSearch, and Vespa.ai. He specializes in both the relevance and operational aspects of information retrieval, and is dedicated to education through training, writing, and speaking at conferences, establishing himself as a key authority in semantic search and AI-powered data solutions.
This hands-on workshop, led by Emil, is designed to help developers discover the potential of AI-powered coding tools, specifically Cursor. By attending, you will gain practical experience with Cursor’s core features, learning how to use AI for code generation, completion, and optimization. The session covers best practices for integrating Cursor into daily workflows, including real-world exercises such as building a mini web application, debugging, and optimizing code with AI assistance. The workshop also addresses advanced use cases like working with legacy code and code auditing, ensuring attendees leave with actionable skills to enhance their productivity.
Emil, Head of AI at eSolutions.tech, has a diverse background in software architecture across industries such as healthcare, gaming, telecom, and banking. His expertise in integrating AI solutions, combined with significant experience in API development, microservices, and data warehousing, makes him a leading authority on practical AI adoption in software development.
In this interactive workshop, Corina and Pasquale will be guiding participants through a practical framework for accelerating AI adoption within organizations. Using Arkage’s Prompt Coffee technique and eSolutions’ Discovery Session, attendees will learn to craft an AI Manifesto tailored to their company’s culture and objectives. The workshop emphasizes the importance of aligning AI adoption with organizational values and building momentum through pilot projects that address real business challenges. Participants will engage in exercises to identify high-impact use cases and develop a strategic approach to AI integration, with Alteus AI serving as a companion tool throughout the process.
Corina Staicu is Chief Product Officer at eSolutions, with more than 17 years of experience in IT project management, service operations, and business analysis. She focuses on AI governance and adoption programs, and is committed to helping organizations implement AI through a combination of strategic planning and hands-on guidance.
Pasquale Borriello is the CEO of Arkage, Italy’s first post-digital agency, and co-founder of the Italian CXPA Network, where he serves on the leadership team. With a background in theoretical computer science and further studies in philosophy, mathematics, and marketing, he is a frequent speaker and educator on AI and marketing, and actively contributes to international AI working groups, making him a recognized leader in ethical and practical AI adoption.
